The Greatest Lap is a 40,370 km relay run around the world: 2,236 runners, one baton, 18 stages through 32 countries on 6 continents, from the Grand Départ in London on 22 August 2027 to the finale on 4 June 2028.
Each stage gathers its own team of runners who carry the baton day and night to the stage handover, led by a celebrity captain. Every runner takes one leg of the lap, from a 10 km to a 100 km ultra.
